Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Traumatic experiences can leave a residual impact that affects a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Kara uses EMDR to address symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to reduce emotional distress and improve mood and behavior. Symptoms of PTSD can include:

  • avoidance of reminders of trauma

  • hypervigilance or a sense of being on edge

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • restlessness

  • nightmares

  • flashbacks

  • emotional numbing

Therapy can help people process their traumatic experiences in a safe space without judgement, and with understanding, compassion, and validation.
